Creating PDFs from QuarkXPress 6

To ensure the PDF is fully compatible, we recommend creating a PostScript file from QuarkXPress 6.5 first, then using Adobe Acrobat Distiller to convert the PostScript file to a PDF.

You will need to download and our QuarkXPress 6 print style and our Adobe PDF jobOptions and install them.

When creating the PostScript file, select Belmont Press A4 from the Print Style drop down menu.

The AdobePDF 8.0 PPD has been selected for maximum compatibility with Distiller. If you have a different version of the Adobe PDF printer driver installed, you can use that instead.

The paper size has 25mm added to its overall dimensions to allow space for the bleed and registration marks. In the example below, A4 paper is now 235mm x 322mm.

Once you have created a PostScript file, you can drop it onto Distiller to create the PDF.
